june decks

the queer tarot and the budapest

(early thoughts, might update at the end of the month)

sigh, another uninspiring tarot month. i got so little time with the may decks that my main memory of Decks I've Worked With is the april failure. i'm finding it hard to be bothered with the queer tarot, i think it's one of those i bought to support the creators. obviously assigned to june for pride. i enjoy looking at it, it's fun and bright and actual art. it's just too modern for me to read with, not very neutral. the budapest is more usable but a little boring, tbh. i chose it for the yellow and red, that seemed like a good summer solstice vibe. the crude simplicity of the art is definitely part of its charm, but idk that it could be my Only Deck, i'd like something more stimulating to go with it.

all this is making me itch for a purchase, especially considering my summer birthday. but i'm trying to hold off by thinking of all the good decks i'll still get to use on my project. drowning world next month - one of my favorites. some potential in august, a bit of struggle in september. then the beloved visconti sforza in october. two good ones in november! and the black veil in december, i miss it so much. so at least 4 really good ones ahead of me! patience! i can always go back and spend more time with my may decks.

i might have been too hasty with putting away all the decks that aren't in the top of the ranking, because looking at the pinks of the queer tarot i'm put in mind of the tarocchi 23. it's like if you merged the simplicity of the budapest with the modern feel and colors of the queer tarot... :O so getting those back out to play with is also an option...
