week 41 - shadowplay tarot

13/10/24

oof, it's been an extremely busy one, y'all. full of errands taking me all over the city. idk if i want to get into the details as i'm topping the week off with an epic headache.

but it wasn't all jobs! i'm happy to have squeezed in a day for myself early on in the week. i finally had a date with myself and went downtown to replenish my collage stash and gather some other odds and ends (like thrifted table runners to serve as tarot cloths - in colors to complement my current tarot decks better). it was a resounding success, so much so that both the artsy magazine and the nature book i found got me fired up for a project. i wanted to see if i could complete an entire collaged tarot deck from either of them.

the magazine was marginally smaller, so i spent a few hours going through it and harvesting interesting people, objects, colors and textures. and then the spirit of the glue stick possessed me and i crafted any free minute for the rest of the week. while a thoroughly pleasant activity, it didn't allow me to rest at all.

despite that, it's going well. obviously there aren't enough people in active poses that match up the RWS scenic minor arcana, but where i can't find something that works, i just supplement with a pip style and perhaps a keyword here and there.

there were also two fails this week:

hoping for a more chill/balanced week this time. have a good one, everyone!
