week 42 - art and discipline
20/10/24
boy oh boy. it's been a week. a lot of it was continued work on the shadowplay tarot - and i finished today! the ending there was a bit tougher, actually reaching the challenging part of the challenge, where there weren't that many good pictures left, and those that were good weren't useful for the card meanings i had yet to illustrate. but all's well that ends well, here it is:

other things included overcoming two strong "no!" days and keeping up with languages, meditation, going outside, the peachtober challenge. it wasn't the easiest, but i'm proud of myself for not giving in/giving up and trucking along regardless of the internal weather. i did start tracking some of that stuff though, like energy and pain levels, and emotional/mental well-being.
bits:
- viewed another dud of a flat
- got a vacuum! the "silent" type. still makes noise like a vacuum but it's bearable. it's not /screaming/
- this week the tracking of online time hovered at around 35mins per day, if you exclude the motivational/inspiring/educational videos. and those usually play in the background of other stuff, i don't sit there watching
- partner took a day off so we had a 3 day weekend. even went to the mall through the woods and saw a humongous bird of prey, maybe an osprey??
- bought myself a recording of a class - planning for the year with astrology and tarot. alas it's geared for 2024 so if i want to do it myself for 2025 i'll have to adjust all the ingresses etc but i'm pretty sure i would not have been able to afford a normal class, if they repeat it this year. maybe i'll finally learn astrology-for-tarot! and i have the perfect deck for it (well, aside from the thoth itself, that is) - the 8th house tarot. or it'll go way over my head. but there's always inspiration to be found
- also i decided to try the DROPM78 challenge after all. not going into too much detail, just a few short paragraphs each day. i have some catching up to do, but i'll be using my shadowplay and testing it out in practice, so it's fun either way.
- might want to craft a journal/booklet to go with the shadowplay, i have some papers and cardstock with the same backing as the cards!
- trying to keep up with peachtober, but my stash is running low and idk if i can continue with the energy i've devoted to crafting the last two weeks, might need to slow down
- really excited about the pile of offcuts and trash i get to use in art now. those are my favorite bits to work with.
wishing everyone all the energy to do what they need and want this week.
